4721- Hogwarts Classrooms

Lego made three of these two-scene Harry Potter sets in 2001.  Great alternative to having to buy a full castle or larger set, but I can't help but notice that the colour scheme in these sets are very different from the rest.  The colours used seem very similar to the current Friends theme and I wonder (and now presume) if these were targeted towards girls.  The sets also come with a cardboard background of the area in question, which I sadly don't have.

Our Hogwarts classrooms come with a Harry Potter minifigure and two mini sets.  One classroom is the area containing the Mirror of Erised and the other seems to be a Potions room, with a cauldron, couple books, and chalkboard.

This was back when even the licensed minifigs were yellow, so young Harry is as well.  He comes with a purple cape and a brown wand.  His black hair is as shaggy as ever and he is wearing a light grey Gryffindor uniform.

Our proper classroom has lots of interesting elements.  Nice chalkboard with rune-ish symbols and illegible magickal scribbles. Adjustable bookstand with two specially printed books with surprise inside (see below for additional picture).  I'm guessing the yellow tile on the right is a kind of eraser.  Or slice of cheese for peckish students or rats.

We get two bright seats with desks.  One desk has a sort of vial and gem/stopper and the other has a frog.  When I got this set in 2001 and year after, I thought the frog was an ink well.  The black cauldron comes with a translucent yellow (officially neon green) spider. Keeping up the blackboard shelf is a little cupboard containing a big gold key.

This other "classroom" is basically just a wall section with a door, a seat and desk, and the Mirror of Erised.  However, for accessories we get a nice white owl and another gold key.  The Mirror does a good job of representing Lego Harry and his Lego parents.  Nice brick of gold detail on the top as well. This set is the only non-Belville one to feature any colour of that brick and it comes in gold in only three sets, including this one.  See additional pictures below for a nice close-up of the Mirror.
