3939- Mia's Bedroom

I was pretty psyched to see a more domestic setting like this in the Friends series.  This set is works fairly well, scale-size for normal Lego minifigures.













This set is made up of three main parts: bed with side table, table with radio, and a drumset.  The mini-doll Mia is not pictured but she is wearing a white halter top and a pink skirt.  Is anyone else really excited to have a proper Lego drumset?





Our first section contains a bed, a tall table with a drawer and a shelf, a lamp, and a yellow basket with a letter.  Though not pictured, the basket is made of a more flexible plastic. I'm not fond of any of the orange pieces in this set, as they seem to clash with everything, especially when put with the bed, but these Friends sets seem to always use pinks, blues, and oranges.  I thought the side table would have looked better with two drawers instead of just the one, but I suppose you can use that area for storage.

 

 

Next, we have a rounded table with a model radio, vase with a red flower cluster, and purple book.  Conveniently, we have a small space in the table for the book to fit nicely into.  I think the model radio is pretty well done.

Lastly, we come to our drumset and music stand.  Lego Kane looks pretty happy to be sat there.  The printed sheet of music is a very cute touch, even if it has butterflies on it.  The drumset looks fantastic by itself, but the drumsticks are huge for normal Lego figures, and maybe even the Friends mini-dolls.  Although, the minifig appears to be sitting far away from the set (see below), so maybe extra long sticks are a good thing.  There's a little bit of a design issue, as the two white drums can't entirely snap into place because the top of the middle drum pushes up on them so are therefore tilted to either side.  However, everything is still pretty stable.
