850779- Legends of Chima Minifigure Accessory Set

I have to start out by saying that I am in no way a fan of the Legends of Chima.  I don't know any of the character's names (before the research I did for this post) and the Lego sets are too crazy for my mostly organized Lego universe (though I'm softening up to some of the machine sets that look like animals).  I initially bought this set just to get the white winged Eagle Ewar, for an animation I planned to do.  However, the printing on all of these figures is so fantastic that I'm now glad I have them.

This set provides us with 4 figures- black Raven Tribe Razcal, grey Wolf Tribe Winzer, brown Lion Tribe Lennox, and white Eagle Tribe Ewar.  They each come with their own weapons, and a translucent blue crystal on a stick thing.  (my research only gets me so far)

As of now, each of these figures appear in 3-4 sets, so they aren't unique, but they are all special to me due to the level of detail on their bodies and head coverings.  It was a little difficult for me to get consistently good pictures of these guys, so pardon that.

Raven Razcal looks like one of the evil guys, and I'm going to have to take the red stud on his saw-toothed weapon as further proof.  All of the characters have double-sided heads and an animal helmet.  Razcal's dark grey breast plate doubles as a way for his wings to clamp onto.

The first side of his head is a more sinister, slitted eye look.  The other side, seen below, has Razcal with blood-shot eyes as if he's seen something awful.  His body is mostly black, with dark grey, purple, and gold detail.  The front of his torso features lots of straps and a blue medallion.  His hands are purple, as is the majority of the back torso detail, seen below.  His legs are detailed wonderfully and I enjoy the toe printing on all the animals.  The gold raven head and wings icon on each of his knees is the most notable leg detail on Razcal.

Wolf Winzer also appears to be a bad guy and his weapon is tipped with a sharp white tooth or bone.  His helmet shows slash markings across one side, so you know he's been in some battles.  If you take off the helmet, you can see that these slashes continue on half of his face, severely affecting one eye.  You almost feel bad for him, but both of the expressions on his double-sided head deter me from having much sympathy.  On one side, his good eye is open wide and his mouth is at rest, with many teeth showing.  His other expression shows him with slanted eye and teeth barred in a way that I can almost hear his wolfy growls.

Winzer's torso print largely consists of many muscle markings and a tuft of dark grey hair with that blue medallion showing.  All the animals, at least in this set, have that medallion, so it must be something important in the Chima universe.  Feel free to educate me in the comments.  Winzer's leg print shows a loincloth, knee coverings, and an animal skin/claw satchel hanging from his belt.

Lion Lennox is the first hero type we see and his weapon is an impressive sword with a translucent blue rod in the center.  It's a little tough to take in and out of the casing though, so it's best to leave it in and let him slash away.  His first expression is more of a battle one, with menacing eyes and teeth showing.  However, he looks fairly playful in his other one, eyes and eyebrows displayed in a cute way and looking like he's smiling or biting his teeth, with only two little fangs poking out.

A blue strap is the bulk of what Lennox is wearing on his chest and back, muscles aside.  His elaborate belt printing starts on his torso and finishes on the leg piece, but it doesn't look as impressive as it should due to the gap in printing on the very bottom of the torso.  His blue garment print on his legs and his lion emblem knee shields make up for this, though I think the lion head knee prints are rather squashed and resemble gorillas.

I bought this set solely for Eagle Ewar and he doesn't disappoint.  His breast plate and wing construction are exactly like the Raven Razcal's, just in gold and white instead of dark grey and black. Underneath his white mask with light blue and yellow detail is a rather livid orange eye expression.  On the other side, he looks merely annoyed.  His weapon is a sort of dagger sword, made up of a gold weapon my mind recognizes as a ninja weapon called a sai, a gold lightsaber hilt piece, and the light blue flat stud that proves our Eagle is a hero.

I don't know what the big blue crystal on the telescope piece is, but in was in the center of the pack, so it seems that all the creatures are perhaps in battle over it.

The torso has a muscle pattern as well as gold ribbing print that carries onto the back.  As in Lion Lennox, there is a belt print that starts on the bottom torso and extends to the legs, however the gap in printing on Ewar isn't as noticeable since the belt print is more elaborate and covers part of the eagle's legs.

The head coverings on all of the figures are wonderful molds with great use of color and detailed printing.  See additional images for more views.

Winzer and Lennox's.

Ewar and Razcal's.
