3933- Olivia's Invention Workshop

What drew me to this set was that is has a nice science theme.  I'm really happy that while the Friends theme is targeted at girls, it explores all kind of different interests people may have.  It's daily life without having to be police or fire.

This set features the mini-doll Olivia.  She's not pictured here, but is wearing an orange-yellow tanktop and lime green cropped pants.  Included in the set is a table with a Lego model microscope, flask, and seat; a model robot with remote control; a shelf unit with bottles; a printed blackboard; and a workstation with drawers, tool wheel, and model clamp mechanism.

The model microscope is probably the best Lego model I've seen.  I think it's adorable, recognizable, and like the use of binoculars as an eyepiece and a jewel as a lens.  I'm also really happy they made Lego flasks, and enjoy the one with purple contents in Minifigures Series 9's Mr. Good and Evil.

I think the robot looks like Wall-e.

Translucent bottles are essential for any science/invention room.

The printed blackboard is a good touch, but since it's Friends, alongside the science scribbles is are flowers and a heart.

One of the nice things about this set is that it not only comes with a tool wheel, but those tools are purple.  I wasn't sure what the contraption on the side was suppose to be at first, but I was impressed once I figured out it's meant to be a clamp.
