40034- Christmas Train

New for Christmas 2012, we have a lovely little festive train.  This polybag release features a train engine connected to a train car containing two model candy canes.

The mostly red engine has two small side windows and one large one in the front.  Unfortunately, the little space in the cab isn't quite big enough for a minifigure.  The engine has three slightly shiny silver wheels and some gold pieces in the front to represent the lights and grill.  It also has two smokestacks and two green circle decorations on each side.

Connected to the engine is a small but sleek red and green train car.  I was happy to see that the type of connector used allows the car to swivel fairly freely.  The little car has two silver wheels to help it chug along.

The two model candy canes fit ok within the train car, slightly on the large side so that they are propped up by the sides of the car and can be seen easier.  I think the train looks better without them, but what is a Christmas train without some holiday cargo?
